Pandrol Re System

The Pandrol Re SYSTEM delivers an assembly with faster installation times and a reduced number of components when compared to a traditional e-Clip equivalent.

The Pandrol Re System adopts two-part insulator technology and integrated insulator/pad manufacture to provide extended life of components and efficiency gains. This can lead to more productive engineering possessions for track refurbishment, such as re-railing, when clips, pads and insulators are normally replaced. With the Pandrol Re system, the rail pad is supplied with the side post insulators already attached, reducing time and labor from laying out and installing loose insulators on site.

The Re system is supplied with toe insulators already in place on the toe of the clip which reduces installation time and the number of loose components on site.

The Pandrol Re System installs on new or existing Pandrol e-Clip or PR clip concrete sleepers. It can also be installed on steel sleepers, baseplates and turnouts. The system is optimised for installation during rail change operations where the fastenings are replaced, but can also be used on loose sleeper replacement projects.

  • The Pandrol Re System is an innovation aimed at extending the life of components and simplifying the installation process. The result is faster, more cost effective installation and less components to handle. It also enhances safety in terms of positioning the pads and insulators during the installation process.

  • Innovative Design

    A unique part of the Re System is the fact that the rail pad is molded to a curved shape with the insulators over moulded integrating them into the pad.  This aids the re-railing process avoiding insulators becoming trapped by the rail foot and increasing the rate at which rails can be installed.

  • The Pandrol Re System can be incorporated into any design of baseplate or concrete sleeper that is configured around an e-Clip type of design. In other words, the Pandrol Re System is designed to retrofit the e-Clip assembly so that the advantages of extended insulator life from the split insulator concept and the increased efficiencies from the one piece pad/insulator can be realised.

    For LRT/Metro applications the system would accommodate the type of pad and the size of clip to suit the operating and performance requirements of the particular LRT/Metro.

In other words, the Pandrol Re System is designed to retrofit the e-Clip assembly so that the advantages of extended insulator life from the split insulator concept and the increased efficiencies from the one piece pad/insulator can be realised.

    For Main Line (Passenger Freight) applications the system would accommodate the type of pad and the size of clip to suit the operating and performance requirements of the particular railway.

  • Opportunity for Retrofit

    In the UK, conversion from e-Clip to Re is being implemented during rail replacement where the efficiency advantages and logistical benefits, in terms of handling, are delivering  commercial benefits.

    For re-railing work the lighter Pandrol Re1600 Series clip can be used, whereas for loose sleeper relaying an Re1800 series should be adopted.

    For High Speed applications the system would accommodate the type of pad and the size of clip to suit the operating and performance requirements of the High Speed railway.

In other words, the Pandrol Re System is designed to retrofit the e-Clip assembly so that the advantages of extended insulator life from the split insulator concept and the increased efficiencies from the one piece pad/insulator can be realised.

    For Heavy Haul  applications the system would accommodate a Heavy Haul rated pad and either an Re1800 or Re2000 series clip, subject to the operating and performance requirements of the particular railway.

    The distinct advantage of the Re System for Heavy Haul is the extended life expectancy of the side post insulator since the functions of the toe insulator and the side post insulator have been separated.
