The Pandrol FASTCLIP FC system is designed for all categories of track, and specifically engineered to be capable of rapid installation by mechanised equipment.

The FASTCLIP FC product has substantial global references on both concrete and steel applications. FASTCLIP FC is a threadless Fastening, with low maintenance and pre-assembly of the fastening which remains captive on the sleeper.

Pandrol FASTCLIP has been designed as a total system, in which all components are delivered to site pre-assembled on the sleeper. Once the sleepers are laid, and the rail installed, the clip is simply pushed onto the rail by means of a simple drive action.

    Installing rail fastenings by mechanised equipment reduces the installed cost of the rail fastenings and can provide further savings during the life of the fastening each time the clips are removed and installed for rail maintenance activities. The Pandrol FASTCLIP system is optimised when used with Rosenqvist clipping equipment and Vortok rollers. Clip application units can either be incorporated directly into the frame of a track laying train (no manpower required) or in free standing clipping equipment with small, medium and high output options available.

     

  • Cost Savings

    There are many examples where contractors have been able to achieve significant savings from the Pandrol System either in the ability to complete work more quickly and mitigate the risk of overrun or by expanding the scope of work and therefore lowering the unit cost of the complete track work. Savings can also be made simply by reducing the manpower on site and saving direct manpower costs. The opportunity is for the contractor to extract the maximum benefit from the mechanisation by studying the logistics, time available and methodology in order to optimise the savings.

    Our conventional Fastclip assembly for concrete and steel sleepers is used in more than 40 countries. For LRT/Metro the Fastclip FC system complies with CEN category B axle loads up to 18 Tonnes and Radius down to 80 metre radius.

The unique shape of the Fastclip installed perpendicular to the rail provides the opportunity for high speed remote track inspection, and the threadless design of the fastening, minimises the requirements for maintenance.

    Within the context of main LRT/Metro tracks we have developed a range of applications to suit bespoke customer requirements and environmental parameters.

  • The Pandrol Fastclip FC system for ballasted track on bridges can generally be considered as plain line track although for very long structures some consideration for track structure interaction may be required.

  • The Pandrol Fastclip system is a resilient, threadless rail fastening system with the unique Pandrol switch on-switch off system that enables fast and efficient track installation resulting in lower installed and life cost benefits.

    Our conventional Fastclip assembly for concrete and steel sleepers is used in more than 40 countries. The assembly is designed typically for European category C main line tracks which is catagorised as suitable for axle loads of up to 26 Tonnes and curves down to 150 m radius.

    As a threadless system Fastclip is ideally suited to an environment where time for maintenance is limited and where the integrity of the fastening system is crucial for safety. The unique shape of the Fastclip installed perpendicular to the rail provides the opportunity for high speed remote track inspection, and the threadless design of the fastening, minimises the requirements for maintenance.

    Within the context of main line tracks we have developed a range of applications to suit bespoke customer requirements and environmental parameters. For example Pandrol provides low toe load or zero toe load systems for special applications and provides for specific anti-vandal needs as well as gauge widening, gauge redeeming, dual rail/multiple rail seat requirements, special joint bar and clip coating for corrosion environments etc.

    Our Fastclip system has been successfully used in a number of countries operating high speed railways including France, China, Korea and Japan where operating speeds exceed 250 km/h and operations up to 330 km/h.

  • High Speed Attributes

The unique shape of the Fastclip installed perpendicular to the rail provides the opportunity for high speed remote track inspection, and the threadless design of the fastening, minimises the requirements for maintenance.

    Fastclip has been designed to work with low stiffness rail pads. The fatigue endurance of the clip exceeds the actual deflections of the rail under high speed rail operation. Effectively the Pandrol Fastclip system is as low maintenance as can be possible with minimal parts and proven components and materials working together as a system.

    Pandrol Fastclip assemblies are available in 2 variants, FC1500 and FC1600. The FC1500 series being appropriate for axle loads up to around 32 Tonnes with the FC1600 series designed for axle loads up to 40 Tonnes.

  • Heavy Haul Solutions

    Our heavy haul Fastclip solutions have been engineered to suit the different severities of heavy haul. Where necessary, a larger than standard clip bar diameter provides additional clamping force and longitudinal restraint to guard against high temperature variation and increased tractive and braking effort that can be associated with heavy haul.

    Pandrol has also developed an extreme heavy haul application called Fastclip FE RR which provides additional lateral restraint and increased durability of the cast shoulder.   • Rail Pad Technology

    At the heart of the Pandrol Fastclip assembly is the rail pad that transfers the load into the sleepers and track structure. Pandrol have developed a range of rail pads from different materials to suit various environmental and operational requirements using materials from natural rubber, high density polyethylene and high performance grades of polyurethane. Our experience in all continents enables us to provide the optimum material and pad shape to suit the operating environment of a particular railway.
