PANDROL VIPA was developed to address vibration and noise problems, particularly for urban transit systems, in a cost effective way.
It makes use of unique resilient rail pad technology to attenuate vibrations which would otherwise be transferred from the rail to the supporting structure. The main system components are a baseplate, a baseplate pad, a top plate and a rail pad.

The rail sits on the rail pad and is fastened to the top plate using PANDROL FASTCLIP. This arrangement allows for vertical resilience whilst minimising rail roll. The arrangement also allows different stiffness baseplate pads and/or rail pads to be installed and thereby can be tailored to the operating requirements.

PANDROL VIPA-SP Vertical Stiffness
Static 19.57kN/mm (EN13146-4), Dynamic 19.48 kN/mm (EN13481-5)

The system offers complete flexibility and can be used on timber, steel or concrete supporting structures. It is pre-assembled with no threaded components at all and can be retrofitted onto existing systems.

Double electrical insulation is provided by insulating the rail from the top plate and the top plate from the baseplate by the rubber pads, bushes and nylon insulators.

PANDROL VIPA provides urban transit systems the perfect solution for low noise/vibration and reduced rail wear together with minimal labour, cost and track occupancy.
