Flash Butt Welding

Railtech International and the Swiss company, Schlatter created in 1994 a joint venture called Railtech Schlatter Systems.

This company provides engineering and sells mobile flash butt welding machines, together with the complete installation of stationary systems for welding of Continuous Welded Rails.

Three solutions for in-track mobile flash butt welding:

  • railway vehicle,
  • combined vehicle rail/road,
  • "containerised" version especially studied for this usage in order to be fixed on the standard flat wagons of our customers.

The Schlatter welding machines used in more than 80 installations world-wide (in stationary workshops and in track) produce welds of very high metallurgical and geometrical quality required in the technical specifications of the high speed tracks and heavy loaded tracks.

Railtech Schlatter Systems also conducts the studies and sales of ancillary equipment used to perform the welds.
